Kop Kits

‘Kop Kits’ is the charitable project of The Brighton Kop which was launched in September 2016.  The aim of the project is to raise funds to supply football kits and equipment to disadvantaged young people. We do this through charity bucket collections, football scratch cards and prize draw raffles.

We are currently working with is The Centre for Youth Driven Development Initiatives (CFYDDI) based in Wakiso, central Uganda.  They work to enrich and improve the lives of local young people by providing opportunities to engage with various education, health, employment and sports projects.

This year we helped them form a youth football team called ‘Nangabo Kopites FC’.  In addition to equipping them with a football kit and training equipment we are about to enrol them in a junior football league and provide them with the funding for the inexpensive transport and refreshments required.  Our longer term plan for this project is to start funding youth workers to be paid coaches for the team, and to get the young people to write articles and match reports for our website as a way of encouraging education and skills for some of the youth.

Our friends at LoveFollowConquer (independent LFC clothing brand) kindly donated thirty of their polo shirts for members of Nangabo Kopites FC.

The Brighton & Sussex OLSC is one of the best community based supporters clubs we've experienced. Their work with the Kop Kits charity is a fantastic cause which is why we happily donated clothing from our apparel brand to them. The OLSC - Brighton & Sussex is a credit to the volunteers that run it - YNWA.”

We have also provided two full football kits, goal nets and training equipment for a school in rural Nepal. The school was founded by one of our member’s family alongside a local charity organisation and we supported the school with a range of school sports equipment. You can see footage of the kids playing in the kit as it was included in our short film, available on the home page.
